The new edition has some updates but a lot of same from the previous.
Programming Arduino Next Steps, Second Edition was very valuable to me because it brought it all together. The book starts by reviewing just what an Arduino can do and how to maximize performance while minimizing power consumption. There is much valuable information on interfacing with different types of serial busses, such as 12C and SPI.I really got a lot out of Chapter 15, Digital Signal Processing. I found the discussion on Averaging Readings very useful, as well as his Introduction to Filtering and Creating a Simple Low-Pass Filter. Also, the graphics of relevant waveforms showed just what he was talking about.I would recommend this book very highly for anyone interested in acquiring new knowledge in this engrossing field.
More of a brief overview. I was expecting many more examples.
This book is a great way to move beyond the beginner level in Arduino, written in a way that is easy to understand - no overly technical language or confusing acronyms. The projects were great and I particularly liked the explanations of how the Arduino systems actually work on a deeper level than other books I've read.Highly recommended.
